What’s up myco fam,
Welcome back to the Mycopreneur Newsletter. Today we’ve got a round up of mushroom news from around the world and an invitation to our weekly Mycopreneur Incubator.
By far the most interesting story in the world of mushrooms this week is a study published in the Frontiers In Neuroscience journal on May 27 that details an octogenarian Japanese-American woman with advanced Alzheimer’s disease who according to researchers regained her previously lost ability to communicate and redeveloped a sense of humor in addition to “restoration of urinary continence, improved mobility, enhanced emotional reciprocity, increased spontaneous communication, and improved contextual social interaction” after one 5 gram dose of Enigma mushrooms had been administered to her.

Here’s an overview of the response that was observed in the woman over the course of one week after taking the macrodose of psilocybin mushrooms:

Also from the study:
One month after the initial session, the patient remained continent and functionally improved compared with baseline. A second supervised psilocybin session using 3 g was subsequently performed and was associated with greater verbal expressivity, improved facial mimicry, spontaneous humor, emotionally valenced autobiographical imagery, and increased agility while walking.
The patient spontaneously stated: “It is pleasant to come here.”
This improvement in her condition comes after two interventions (5 gram dose of mushrooms, 3 gram dose of mushrooms) after 10 years of being afflicted with Alzheimer’s and 5 years of advanced atrophy as a result of the condition.
Interestingly, the only mainstream media outlets to cover this study in the United States was Fox News, which led off the story with a video of Trump signing the FDA fast-tracking review of psychedelics in the Oval Office recently.

World Mushroom Forum
The World Mushroom Forum is taking shape in a big way since we announced it two weeks ago — we’ve announced the first wave of speakers and partners, with many more soon to be announced. I’ve been telling everyone to get submissions in through our portal so that everything is in one place rather than scattered across text threads, DM’s email, conversations, etc…100% of the applicants who submitted to the call to action within the first two weeks were selected for the program.
We've received dozens of applications by mushroom entrepreneurs, established brands, notable researchers, and advocates from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland, Australia, India, Kenya, South Africa, Argentina, etc.
We’ve also secured multiple sponsors as well as many more community and media partners which will be announced in the coming days / weeks. Don’t sleep on this one, if you want to be a part of it, please fill out the submission form linked above.
I mean…we’ve even got Seth Colchester from Mycogenius on the program, our Netherlands-based functional mushroom extract provider of choice in the EU. If you haven’t been following Seth’s work, this is your call to action (see below)
