Happy Wednesday everyone,
In light of a flood of new mushroom entrepreneurs signing up for this newsletter yesterday (welcome!), here is the invite info for todayâs Mycopreneur Incubator.
The incubator is a low-key, cost-free networking and mentorship opportunity for anyone actively running a mushroom business.
Mycopreneur Incubator details:
Aug 21, 2024 06:00 PM EST / 03:00 PM PDT
Weâve had over 100 mushroom entrepreneurs from 12 countries join us in the last 2 months since weâve been hosting this weekly incubator - you never know who is going to drop in.
Highlights from the global mycopreneurial community
I recently came across this remarkable innovation from the team at OKC Mycology Supply - a mycology supply vending machine?! File under âWhy didnât I think of that?â

Speaking of Oklahoma, Iâm getting really excited for the upcoming 2nd Annual Oklahoma Mushroom Festival happening October 12-13 in Oklahoma City.
Iâm giving a talk titled âMyco Mojo: Humor as a Tool for Navigating the Mushroom Universeâ alongside 35+ other renowned mushroom educators and entrepreneurs from across the U.S., 100+ vendors, and hands on workshops touching all areas of the mycoverse in a 17,000 square foot building. Did I mention that with prices starting at $15 for a one day general admission pass and ranging through $100 for a 2 day VIP pass, itâs ridiculously affordable and accessible? The only remaining piece of the puzzle for this world class event at the vanguard of the mushroom revolution is you.

In other myco news, check out this surfboard made out of mycelium courtesy of Maku Surf in Ployharnel, France - credit to Marc Violo from MycoStories for putting this awesome project on my radar. Whoâs gonna make the first mycelium surf board in the U.S. đ ?

Marc Violo and I will be sharing the stage at All Things Fungi festival in the picturesque countryside of Sussex, England next month. This is the inaugural version of the festival, which is uniting leading cultural and scientific myco pioneers from âboth sides of the pondâ.
Marc and I are giving a talk on the state of the global fungi business ecosystem.
Iâm also hosting a mushroom gameshow as part of the opening ceremony on the first night of the festival, so if anyone has any context specific one-liners or cultural references that I can work into jokes that will land with a primarily British audience, please do send them my way ( :
Iâm particularly excited to stay in one of the Glamping pods on site - ahh glamping, the free range organic chicken of the camping world.
If youâre in the neighborhood or feeling frisky and want to book a transatlantic flight for this, you can book your tickets here

If you havenât checked out the Mycopreneur Podcast yet, nowâs a good time to pop it into your queue wherever you listen to audio media - the guests Iâve interviewed this week alone hail from Canada đ¨đŚ, South Africa đżđŚ, & the U.S. đşđ¸
And today Iâm interviewing mycopreneurs from Russia đˇđş and England đ´ó §ó ˘ó Ľó Žó §ó ż
Stay tuned! New episodes every Thursday. Maybe youâd like to be considered for a fortchoming slot on the podcast?
Back to todayâs incubator:
These events are currently free, but if anyone would like to offer a donation of $10 - $15 I'd be more than happy to receive it.

Give me a holler here if you'd like to discuss sponsorship of the Incubator for $100 / session, or sponsoring this newsletter for $100 / placement.
Sponsorship includes shoutouts across social media and a prioritized speaking time during the incubator.Â
I also offer more comprehensive sponsorship bundles that include a full campaign strategy across social channels, the podcast, newsletter, & more - please reply here if interested. Combined reach is over 200k organic views / 75k accounts reached monthly + quite a bit more (did you see this Rolling Stone article that pulled quotes from a Mycopreneur episode?) Reply here or hit me up on any of my social channels to further discuss sponsorship.
Shout out to each of you devoting your time and energy to building the future with a little help from our fungi friends!
Love,
Dennis
